Art

I studied painting and digital imaging at RMIT and at the Victorian College of the Arts in the 1990’s before pursuing my career as a journalist and editor. During this time I participated in a number of group exhibitions and held several solo shows. I also curated a number of exhibitions including one of the first Australian surveys of gay art, at the National Gallery of Victoria.

In 2010 I exhibited a series of photographic prints: Urban Abstractions at Linda Sheehan Galleries, Thirroul. I was represented by Sheehan Galleries 2010-2015.

My interest in photography continues to be in exploring the liminal space between the representational and the abstract. How can abstract images document our experience of the city? How can words and images open up vistas of feeling as well as speak in the language of facts?
